Introduction

Many years ago, we (Jerry and Sandi Donovan) knew we wanted to drive to Alaska at some point in our lives. To us it is our dream vacation. Many people prefer warm beaches, but we love mountain scenery and cooler climates. Knowing that the trip would take many weeks to complete, having some saved vacation time was key, so some planning had to be done over time. As we approached our 25th wedding anniversary everything started to fall into place. We saw this as a perfect time to go and a great way to celebrate. Sara, being 14, "gets" to come along for the ride.

This website is somewhat of a journal of this adventure, starting with purchasing the RV, to planning the trip, then traveling. Jerry, being the computer geek he is, wanted to do this site. Sandi, being a memory maker type person, wanted to do a scrapbook while traveling. We decided to do both and bought a HP 375 photosmart printer (through eBay) for printing photos during the trip. The goal for the website was to update this page while traveling, however because internet connections were not available all the time, and we didn't get to Alaska until 10 days into the trip. It's a long way (over 3100 miles) from Colorado to Fairbanks.
