Software

This web page was created using Adobe PageMill 3.0. It is a little bit old (received with a scanner a few years ago), but still works very well in creating simple websites fairly easily. See the Adobe website for more information about their products.

The thumbnail photos were created using "Easy Thumbnails" by Fookes Software. It is freeware that is available on the web. By using this program we were able to create smaller and larger images for the website that are both smaller than the originals from the camera. The smaller thumbnails are limited to 300x200 in size and the larger ones are limited to 800x600 in size.

Uploading to the website was done using WS_FTP Limited Edition by IpSwitch Inc. It is an older version that I have had around for a while. See their website for information about newer versions.

Cameras And Photos

The cameras used for these photos include a HP Photosmart 817, HP Photosmart 818, and an HP Photosmart 945 digital cameras. These have been excellent cameras to use, but our opinions might be slightly biased. Jerry works for the division of Hewlett-Packard that makes these digital cameras. He writes software to test and calibrate them.

Many of the photos on this site were taken while traveling along at highway speeds through the windshield of the RV. Therefore, the quality of the images may include motion blur and glare or reflections off the inside of the windshield. Generally this isn't a major problem for this type of photos (posted on a website). In some photos you can see slight distortions caused by smudges, raindrops, glare, or reflections from the windshield. Anyone wanting really good pictures would stop the vehicle to get many of these shots, but sometimes that isn't practical, or safe to do. Obviously, one of the advantages of digital cameras is that if you take enough photos, then some of them will be good enough to use.

By clicking on the small thumbnails on the pages, you can see the larger ones. To return to the web page that had the small thumbnails, you will need to use the "Back" button on your web broswer.
